From Dublin we flew to Girona, Spain. Girona is a small medieval city about 80 km east of Barcelona. This is a view of the old medieval part of the city and its outer wall. Girona (and Barcelona, and Tarragona where we went next) are all in the Catalunian region of Spain. The everyday language is Catalan, but everyone speaks Spanish as a second language. We enjoyed our 3 days in Girona thoroughly, especially the restaurant we found that serves Basque tapas (they call them pintxos -- "PEEN-choze"). We ate there almost every meal after we found it.
